That is a very good question indeed. If there is enough call for such policy to be implemented in Prince William County, particularly within the school system, it may very well become a reality.

In the meantime, a highly recommended recourse is to report suspected abuses, fraud, or waste of Department of Education funds or programs either anonymously or in confidence to the Office of the Inspector General in several ways by:

1) Downloading this form (complete anonymity) and mailing it to:

Inspector General's Hotline
Office of Inspector General
U.S. Department of Education
400 Maryland Avenue, SW
Washington, DC 20202-1500

2) Sending an e-mail message to
oig.hotline@ed.gov

3)
Calling the OIG Hotline's toll free number 1-800-MIS-USED. The Hotline's operating hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Eastern Time; Tuesday and Thursday, 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Eastern Time except for holidays.

4) Completing and submitting a complaint form online.

Reporting actions that go against the best interests of the students should never result in retaliation from the offending party. Unfortunately, the status quo for many places in the country is quite the opposite...

Let others know about this and other resources they can use to pursue their causes and cases.

Injustice does not have an indefinite shelf-life.
